Merck’s antiviral pill may help beat COVID-19, but vaccines and testing still needed

Although COVID-19 vaccines reduce multiplication of COVID-19 and resulting deaths, there haven’t been many good or easy treatments for that actual virus. However a new antiviral drug from Merck offers expect keeping patients have contracted COVID-19 from the hospital and alive. Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, a contagious disease specialist at Boston College, joins William Brangham to go over.
