Beijing, China sees new coronavirus surge, many fear another lockdown

After greater than 50 days without domestically transmitted Covid-19 cases in Beijing, the town reported one situation last Thursday. By Monday, 106 new confirmed cases have been recorded. The town reported 21 cases for Wednesday, based on Reuters, that was lower from 31 yesterday. Chu Junwei, the official of Beijing’s southwestern Fengtai district, told reporters a week ago the new cases had place the district on the “wartime emergency mode.”
