Alberta has launched a verification application to check on evidence of COVID-19 vaccination having a QR code.

Premier Jason Kenney announced the launch on Tuesday throughout the province’s regularly scheduled COVID-19 update.

The AB Covid Records Verifier application can be obtained on Apple and Android devices with the relevant application stores.

Based on the government, “the QR code includes a secure digital signature that verifies it’s supplied by Alberta Health Services which is very difficult to forge.”

The application can have a eco-friendly checkmark when the scanned QR code applies. It will likewise display the person’s name and birth date. Companies are requested to ensure the data with another supply of identification.

The federal government states the application doesn’t store any private information and doesn’t require a web connection to function once downloaded.

Based on Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping, by November. 15, “all evidence of vaccination will be performed using the convenience and security from the QR code.”

Other kinds of evidence of vaccination will still be recognized until November. 15, including paper documents from vaccine providers or perhaps a screenshot, or perhaps a printed record from or MyHealthRecords.
